This paper is intended to show how the „pink aesthetics“ can be made in the production of full dentures.
Making a prosthesis as such „invisible“ is easy to reach with a bit more attention to detail.

When opening the mouth the first detail is visible the teeth. Therefore, the anterior teeth should be given the greatest attention. Do they look artificial and unnatural,  the „invisible“ is very difficult to realize. Artificial teeth can be individualized so that even an „expert“ is uncertain in assessing genuine or spurious. Since this discipline of individualizing is not able for everybody, and also the financial framework is not always given for this purpose, I use finished, idealized, lifelike incisors.
The second detail, the artificial Gingiva – the pink aesthetics – there are not prefabricated, but prefabricated materials and instructions are available  on the dental market since a long time. The way I work and the possible final results I want to show here. Perhaps the images of the finished prosthesis will inspire you, like me the pictures of the work of MDT Jürg Stuck many years ago. When attending a course he once said:
„If you are engaged in something seriously, the success and also the personal success is inevitable.“
Enthusiastic patients, satisfied dentists and new dentists as new customers are just a few examples that I have experienced.

Material:

The manufacturer of prosthetic plastics offer a variety of different plastics. The processing and handling are different. For the way of my technique, the opaque denture resin from the Fa. Candulor is particularly well suited. The processing time, the various basic and intensive colors can be processed well.

The particular advantages :

• The sagittal extent and volume allows a deep interdental modellation of the gums without producing „black holes“. This makes the three-dimensional appearance of each tooth is achieved.
• The individual cutting edge of the upper and lower front teeth causes a very vivid and natural effect even in a non-interleaved formation.
• The „technical form“ closes the interdental spaces. With appropriate modeling of the gums only lifelike, anatomical shape remains visible.
• The interface design is particularly brilliant. Senior Physician Dr. Busche from the University of Witten: „The Physiodens incisor has such a twinkle, just great!„

The aesthetic design of the labial gingival areas (including the first molars) is particularly important for a natural effect of complete dentures in the patient’s mouth. Most artificial teeth and dental positions will expose the patient as denture wearers when the pink aesthetics is forgotten.

The tooth neck should not be too exposed, and the aesthetics of the composite and the bonding with the denture acrylic would be more disadvantageous. As each tooth is to act in three dimensions, not only the labial facet may be shown. The gums should be modeled in the depths, this does the anatomical shape of the tooth agile advantage. With a suitable instrument the wax is modeled in a natural form (Pic.8)
Images of natural Gingiva should be available at the workplace and be taken as a model for modeling.

Corners, edges or deep ruts in the interdental region are neither polished nor to keep clean by the patient.

Completion:

After polymerization (Fig .: 28) the prosthesis is prepared in the labial area that most natural effect is created, this one should re-adhere to the model of nature (pictures of natural Gingiva).

The Papillengestaltung the frenulum and a lightly-textured (Stippeling drills) look very natural after polishing. The polish must deliberately and carefully carried out so as not to destroy the developed surface structure and the surface of the teeth (fig.29).

With the polishing brushes on the polishing motor controlled, labial polish is hardly possible. The danger to destroy the tooth-surfaces and delicately textured surface of the gums is very large. Therefore, I prefer to use the handpiece and a suitable polishing brush to polish the labial area.

The nature simulated teeth and Gingiva design that mimics natural Gingiva in of the modellation and color, will not look like to be artificially prostheses  (Figure 30).

The result is what counts, no matter be used and processed the materials.
Anyone who has tried to copy natural Gingiva, knows that it is to be found in a variety of shapes and colors.
Our efforts it should be, and to increase the natural model .

The presented technique has been developed and perfected that they can be easily integrated into the flow of a laboratory everyday.
It is important that the time and the expenditure on equipment are acceptably low. Our patients are grateful to us for it, and also willing to reward the extra effort.
