Welcome Welcome Welcome to Glasgow Music Studios!

A musical hub located in Glasgow’s Marvellous Merchant City

Quite the unique setting under the abandoned Glasgow & South-Western railway line, the studio runs throughout 3 of the arches on Osborne Street, inside playing host to 5 custom built acoustic pods designed in and imported all the way from Italy.

Throwback!

All the way to 1800’s, when Osborne street was a jumpin’ as its then residents Greenlees’ Brothers ran their bonded and export warehouses, where they claimed to have handled over 1.3 million gallons of whisky in 1886!

Bringing it back to the 21st Century …

We want to give you a lil’ insight into what goes on in the studios,  check out our monthly breakdowns…

Hard Rock Cafe School of Rock Summer Camp

GMS teamed up with Hard Rock Cafe Glasgow to present School of Rock Summer Camp for kids aged 9-16, for a week of music tuition, recording and live performance. Running 1st – 5th August, the kids created, rehearsed and performed their songs live on the Hard Rock Cafe Live Lounge Stage and were all amazing! Some definite musical talent and passion. This was a successful partnership and the kids loved it so much there will be another School of Rock running in October!

Ragh Guitars

GMS are happy to announce we have teamed up with Ragh Guitar!

Bespoke, unique and completely handmade guitars from Stewarton, Scotland

….

I began building guitars as i needed an artistic outlet. In the beginning I built copies of Les pauls and Stratocasters, but quickly started developing my own ideas. It’s not enough for me to build a great copy of a great guitar, everything has to be unique. With that in mind i began to use different timbers and designs outwith the norm. I use a lot of British timbers, Elm being a favourite as no two pieces are the same.

In January 2016 i decided to start a “proper” guitar building business, and launch myself online for the first time and i have received a lot of interest in the unique timbers and traditional construction methods i use. No CNC’s at Ragh Guitar, just me and some vintage handtools. I can’t see that ever changing, there’s too much mass production these days, i revel in the unique and one off ideas.

It’s an absolute pleasure to build a guitar for someone and i welcome you to forward your ideas, or even ask me for some. I realise it’s actually quite intimidating beginning the process and try to make it as easy as possible. It literally starts with a “Hello” and evolves.
