New Year, Changes To Do

Happy New Year 2016

Happy New Year! May this year bring you joy, peace and prosperity!

As we are blessed to see the dawning of a New Year, it is also time to not repeat mistakes from the past. This is for corporate, family and self. As things in our lives change, we need to make changes to accommodate the new and eliminate things that hold us down or back. These are just the things that I have on my mind. I am sure you have a few that you can add.

Changing Passwords – It is recommended to change your password to your most frequent websites at least once every six (6) months. With the New Year, change your password to your email address, your Gmail account, your Facebook, YouTube, Twitter, Snapchat and any other social media sites. This will protect you and your privacy.

Spruce-up your website – Take a look at your personal or business website. How up to date is the information? When was the last time you updated your picture(s)? Have you added or deleted staff profiles and pictures? Have an outside party to review your website. They will give you a user friendly response on how they were able to navigate your site. If they find it hard, how does other see it? Your website is your online portal that will direct people towards you. Don’t make it hard for them to connect with you.

Forgive and Move Forward – We all have the past that stays with us from day to day, week to week, month to month and year to year. This year, let’s not take last year’s woes, disappointments, failures, tears and regrets forward. Say to yourself, “The past has made me the person I am today and today I will be the master of my future!” When that past shows up that you no longer want to be bothered with, be strong and say “NO MORE! This is not the life I want so you need to leave!”

Write your vision – Self-assure yourself of what you want and write it down in big letters. Put it on your refrigerator so you see your goals every day. Visualize the path needed to get to the end result. Know you are not going to hit every step or mark but you have a plan.

Don’t be afraid of NO – You have been putting off approaching this potential client because you are nervous that they may say no. If you never ask you will never know. What if you ask and they say YES!? Holly cheese on a cracker!! Yes, there is a chance they will say yes. Because you have not asked is why you have not gotten the yes. And even if they tell you no, thank them for their time and leave your business card. You never know who they may know who might need your product or services.

To all who read, the challenge I present to you is what are you going to change to make your life, your family’s life and your career better in 2016? Share your thoughts.
