Lake Tahoe’s Pandemic House Hunting

House Hunting in 2020 and 2021 has been a bit unusual compared to prior years. With real estate being an essential business, realtors had to find new ways to go about selling houses. Not only is the market exceptionally good but a lot of what might have been face to face is now virtual. Virtual House Hunting took a big leap this past year and ultimately worked for most people who were searching for homes in Lake Tahoe. Whether it is a FaceTime call or a Zoom meeting, real estate has been conquering the pandemic despite the unique circumstances. In person private showings are still allowed with precautionary steps in place, but we did see quite a few people go virtual. When it comes down to House Hunting in a pandemic like this one it is important to be overly aggressive and quick in order to get your hands on a deal. With low inventory and an overwhelming demand, it makes a lot of sense for virtual showings in order to be first in line when placing an offer. With many buyers from the Bay Area, it was not easy to make it up to the lake. Especially with short term rentals being shut down and not many places to stay around the Lake. Many buyers and sellers are not letting this pandemic get in their way and are still moving full steam ahead. The new norm is virtual house hunting and might just be how real estate stays for the future. It isn’t always easy to get the feel of the house from virtual showings, but it tends to be the first step in today’s unique world. Lake Tahoe’s pandemic house hunting has developed many new ideas for selling real estate and is here to stay.
