On Android, you can see the option for document sharing on the menu that gets displayed while tapping on the attachment icon. To give space for the new icon, WhatsApp has merged ‘Photo’ and ‘Video’ sharing options into a single option – ‘Camera’.
To find this option on iOS, you need to tap on the arrow icon in the chat and choose the ‘share document’ option from the menu that pops up.
At present, users can share only PDF files. When you upload a PDF file, WhatsApp will show the file preview and also the total page number, file size and type. All other file types may be supported in near future.
