Governor meets Chief Secretary, Ministers on administration

Governor_3037526fA day after the Apollo Hospitals said Chief Minister Jayalalithaa would require a longer stay in hospital, Governor Ch Vidyasagar Rao on Friday evening “enquired” about the general administration of the Government from two senior ministers and the State Chief Secretary at the Raj Bhavan.

“The Chief Secretary briefed the Governor about the administrative affairs that are being carried out on a day-to-day basis and also other general matters,” a Raj Bhavan press release said.

Finance Minister O. Panneerselvam, number two in the Cabinet and the leader of the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly, along with Public Works Minister Edappadi K. Palaniswami and Chief Secretary P. Rama Mohana Rao, met the Governor at the Raj Bhavan on the latter’s request. The Governor also enquired about the condition of the Chief Minister.

An official release from the Governor’s office said, Mr Vidyasagar Rao enquired about the arrangements for the forthcoming visit of the high level technical committee, constituted by the Union Water Resources Ministry, on the Cauvery water issue as directed by the Supreme Court. He sought details of the information that would be presented to the committee to protect the welfare of farmers of Tamil Nadu. Mr Palaniswami, who is the number four in the order of seniority in the Council of Ministers, explained in detail about the arrangements made , the release added.
