She Was Last Seen Leaving Her House In 2022, And Her Family Believes An Old Boyfriend May Have Something To Do With Her Disappearance

Jennifer Sullivan, a 45-year-old former resident of Milford, Connecticut, was known to be “the life of every party” while growing up – adored by all of her family members.

However, the mother of two also struggled with addiction, and after getting kicked out of a rehab facility in 2022, Jennifer vanished.

“She has a 26-year-old son who loves her and an 18-year-old daughter who misses her terribly. It’s hard,” said Jennifer’s mother, Valerie Booth, in January 2023.

“It’s ripped us apart. I just need some closure, you know. I think that’s what I want. I don’t even know. Are they going to find her dead someplace? I don’t know.”

Leading up to her disappearance, Jennifer had traveled home for Christmas in 2021. Then, she returned to a rehab facility in New London, Connecticut, in January of 2022.

At the time, she’d been working at a local painting company and would always call either her mother, Valerie, or her daughter every single day. But the last phone call between Valerie and her daughter was different.

“She used and ended up getting kicked out, so she called me and told me she was going to find another place or come home, and then she went missing,” Valerie recalled.

On January 6, 2022, Jennifer was last seen leaving her residence in New London on foot. She has not been seen or heard from since.

After Jennifer’s family hadn’t heard from her again for about two weeks, they contacted the Milford Police Department and reported that she was missing on January 30, 2022.

Once an investigation was launched, authorities combed through Jennifer’s bank accounts and cell phone records to uncover any indicators of her whereabouts. But, these efforts were unfruitful.

Additionally, police weren’t able to ascertain whether she brought any belongings from her home with her before she vanished. It’s also unclear if she had a means of transportation.

One of Jennifer’s close friends, Melissa Sharretto, detailed how Jennifer had gone missing once before about 10 years ago. Then, she went home two weeks later.

But, this time is different because Melissa claimed she’d always been able to get in touch with Jennifer on her cell phone.

“So when you don’t get those phone calls anymore, it’s like where did she go? Why? Why didn’t she call? Something’s wrong, and we’re stuck,” Melissa said.

According to Valerie, her daughter had previously worked as a medical secretary for a doctor’s office before her battle with drug addiction began. Jennifer struggled on and off for about 15 years – at one point, successfully remaining clean for one year before relapsing again.

Throughout her challenges, though, Valerie claimed that her daughter remained a kind person.

“She would go into these rehab houses, and I would have people contact me telling me Jen made them breakfast every day. She was just that type of person and was also very artistic,” she explained.

“She made everybody laugh. She was a normal, outgoing person. And even though she used drugs, she would go to rehab and be the same person. Sometimes she would take my car, and sometimes I would call the cops to find her, but she would always come home.”

Jennifer’s loved ones are still committed to finding answers in her case, which is why they’ve hired two private detectives. Additionally, a retired policeman has been aiding the investigation.

Her family reportedly believes that a past boyfriend may have had something to do with Jennifer’s disappearance. However, this theory remains unsubstantiated, and the search for Jennifer continues.

Jennifer is five foot two, weighs 150 pounds, and has blonde, curly hair and blue eyes. She also has a blue Grateful Dead bear tattoo on her ankle and a tattoo of a fairy on her back. It is unclear what she was wearing at the time of her disappearance.

If you have any information regarding Jennifer’s case or whereabouts, you are urged to contact the Milford Police Department at (203) 878-6551.
