This 28-year-old man and his Wife, 28, married two years ago, and they started dating six years ago. They love going to concerts; if one can’t take off work to attend a show, the other person sometimes goes with friends.
On Saturday, his wife’s male friend, Larry, invited her to a concert. She and Larry had attended concerts before with a group of mutual friends, and his wife always came home late at night afterward. It’s usually gone smoothly.
“This time, the other person going with them canceled, so it would be my wife and Larry. The person works a catering position that someone bailed on, so the person could not attend,” he said.
The morning of the concert, his wife told him Larry felt uneasy driving home so late, so he suggested they book a hotel room together and stay overnight before driving home the following morning.
When his wife questioned whether he’d be comfortable with this plan, he told her he wouldn’t be, adding reasons why he didn’t like the idea. He’s been acquainted with Larry for several months and heard Larry gloat about sightseeing in the city where the concerts are being held.
“When he goes there, he reserves hotel rooms and specifically takes married women there to sleep with. Larry has also been reprimanded at his job for using his management position to acquire employees’ phone numbers to ‘flirt’ with them,” he explained.
After he expressed his unease with the idea of his wife and Larry sharing a hotel room, she accepted his feelings. When his wife attended the concert, she crossed the boundary they’d previously agreed upon and stayed overnight in a hotel, and he assumed she shared a room with Larry.
When she returned home at 1 p.m. on Sunday, he refused to speak to her unless he had to. A couple of days later, they discussed the concert.
“She adamantly claims that he did not come to the hotel with her until early morning and was intoxicated when he arrived, forcing her to drive back,” he shared.

He was skeptical of his wife’s version of the story, and he spoke with the person who’d originally planned to attend the concert with his wife and Larry to verify that they hadn’t planned to go by themselves from the beginning.
However, the person verified that it was true that they wanted to attend the concert until the work scheduling conflict came up.
Since the concert, Larry has refused to talk to him or his wife. Because no one would give Larry a job, he moved to a different state.
