Fine Dining In London Doesn’t Have To Burn A Hole In Your Wallet With These Michelin Star Restaurants That Are Surprisingly Affordable

Whenever you want to take someone special out on a nice date or celebrate a family member reaching an important milestone, you might be tempted to turn to a Restaurant known for serving high-quality food that has earned a Michelin star or two.

However, such fine dining is a strain on the wallet. Michelin-starred restaurants usually don’t come cheap. But if you’re in London, you should know that affordable ones do exist.

Here are the cheapest Michelin-starred restaurants to visit in the area. Their meals are just as delicious as their more expensive counterparts, all for a fraction of the price.

Chishuru, Fitzrovia

At Chishuru, a Set Lunch Menu is offered for about $50 (£40). The four-course meal features modern West African cooking, including dishes such as fermented rice cake with maitake and chestnut mushrooms and whole deep-fried quail with a black sesame sauce.

Wild Honey, St. James

The interior of Wild Honey is swanky and elegant, which makes sense since it’s located in the glamorous Sofitel St. James Hotel. What’s surprising is how little money you need to spend in order to enjoy some fine dining.

If you stop in for a weekday lunch, you can experience three courses of exquisite European dishes for just $56.66 (£45).

Luca, Clerkenwell

This stunning Italian restaurant features a warm, vintage atmosphere with fireside terrace seating. The menu reflects the seasons, offering diners Italian cuisine in the form of traditional pasta dishes alongside a variety of meats and seasonal seafood.

The bar express menu is available Wednesday through Saturday from 12 PM to 2 PM. Two courses are priced at $32.74 (£26) and three courses are for $37.79 (£30).

The Ninth, Fitzrovia

The Ninth is a Mediterranean restaurant with a menu that changes regularly. It offers a daily set lunch menu with two courses for $37.79 (£30) or three courses for $44.08 (£35).

Start off with some house duck soppressata and beetroot salad with coconut yogurt and fig oil, followed by chargrilled Delica pumpkin, hazelnut dukkah, and whey butter. Wrap up the meal with Madeleines and lemon curd or white peaches, granita, and almond ice cream.
