For four and a half years now, this 29-year-old woman has been married to her 32-year-old Husband. They do not have any kids, and it’s just them.

She says her husband is wonderful in so many ways. He unconditionally loves her, he’s caring, and he invests a ton of energy into their marriage.

“He puts me first and is the most amazing husband. However…Around this time last year, I found out he was texting a woman from work,” she explained.

“They’d been out for cocktails together, and their messages were incredibly flirty (saying they missed each other, he said she makes him feel excited, and they often sent photos to each other and commented on how good the other looked).”

“He lied to me on a couple of occasions, saying he was working late or had missed his train, but he was actually with her. He then organized a full-on date with her – a meal in a fancy restaurant, cocktails at a bar, and then booked a hotel round the corner.”

She was able to confront her husband about the romantic date he planned for him and his Coworker before he could leave their house, so the date ultimately got canceled.

Her husband swore that nothing happened between him and his coworker, and then he stopped speaking to this woman completely.

She believes her husband has not talked to or seen his coworker since that incident, but it was too late the damage was already done.

Her confidence in herself tanked and she ended up losing all of the feelings she had for her husband. She’s no longer in love with him anymore.

“He’s made a huge effort to put things right – taking me out, buying gifts, spending all his free time with me,” she said.

“It’s at a point where I don’t want to kiss or hug him…and I don’t feel we have much in common anymore. I fill all my time with hobbies, and I think it’s because I want an excuse to be out of the house and away from him. I know it would break his heart if he knew how I felt, and our families would be devastated.”

“I don’t know if this will pass with time/healing from last year’s incident, but I don’t want to waste time on a relationship that’s not going to last. Would marriage counseling work? Would love to hear from anyone who’s tried that. I want to do everything I can to fix things if possible. I don’t just want to give up.”
