For the last three years, this 32-year-old woman has been with her 39-year-old fiancé, Alan, and they got engaged a year ago. Their wedding is happening in exactly one week.

On her very first date with Alan, he informed her that he and his 12-year-old daughter Rose are a “package deal” and that Rose is his entire world.

She was fine with that, and then things progressed to the point where she began spending time with him and Rose.

Rose’s mom, Carrie, is a part of Rose’s life and co-parents her along with Alan. Carrie pretty much hates her, by the way.

Carrie and Alan were high school sweethearts who stayed together through college, and Carrie is still holding onto the hope that Alan might come back to her.

However, Alan has confessed to her that Carrie’s a terrible partner and treated Alan like trash throughout the entire time they were together.

Then when Alan discovered Carrie was conducting an affair, he finally got brave enough to walk away from her for good.

Even though evidence of the affair was presented in court, Carrie was still awarded joint custody of Rose.

Now, she and Rose don’t have the best relationship, and she is sympathetic to the girl. She grew up with divorced parents, so she understands how tough it is to not have your mom and dad together.

Rose also isn’t thrilled that she’s marrying Alan, as she definitely dreams of her parents making up.

Normally, Rose is super rude to her and will snap that she’s not her mom and can’t tell her what to do.

While Alan has attempted to set boundaries, they don’t work, and Rose always says that she’s not going to last long in their house.

She simply deals with Rose’s poor behavior because she does love Alan, and on the rare occasion, Rose can actually behave.

“Seriously, she’s not a horrible kid,” she explained. “She gets good grades in school; she’s in the youth symphony and takes dance classes.”

“She’s really popular, bubbly, and friendly when she isn’t being mean to me. It’s like Jekyll and Hyde. Alan and I have talked about it constantly and have even involved Carrie, but Carrie just brushes it off, telling me to mind my own beeswax. We have tried therapy, groundings, and everything else, but nothing works.”

Anyway, back to her wedding, several weeks back, the alterations on her wedding dress were finally completed, and she was thrilled.

Her late grandma actually made her very own wedding dress after being inspired by photos of Grace Kelly, and this dress has either been worn by a lot of the women in their family or served as a template for others to have theirs made.

She’s far taller than her grandma was, so she had her wedding dress custom made to resemble her grandma’s gown.

The dress is incredibly special to her, and as soon as she got it back, she safely packed it away in a garment bag and placed it in her closet.

Now, she does not live with Alan, but her apartment is located close to where one of Rose’s friends lives.

So on days when Alan has Rose, Rose goes to her friend’s house before coming over to her apartment to have dinner with her and Alan.

They will watch a movie together or play a video game, and then Alan will go back to his place with Rose.

Two nights ago, Alan had Rose, but since he was running quite late from work, he called her to let her know, and Rose came over without him.

Rose got to her place and was acting fine, so she went into the kitchen to finish dinner and left Rose by herself.

When dinner was done, she exited the kitchen to let Rose know, and when she walked past her bedroom, she noticed something about the door of her closet that made her stop and look. So, she walked up to her closet, and that’s when she made the heartbreaking discovery.

“My dress had been cut to pieces with a pair of scissors and was covered with glitter paint. My veil is torn to shreds. It’s completely ruined,” she said.

“I broke down crying. I was too upset to even be angry. Alan arrived and found me in a mess. He was beyond furious and went to Rose, confronting her about it. Rose admitted it with a shrug of her shoulders and said, “What’s the point? She’s just a fat old cow anyway.” Alan confiscated her cell phone and immediately called Carrie to discuss a punishment.”

“I don’t know how or why, but this is the straw that is breaking the camel’s back. I have gone through so much with Rose. I’ve tried to be caring and compassionate…and this is my reward? Now that my sadness has faded away, it’s been replaced with a boiling anger. I’m tempted to just call off the wedding and leave Alan to deal with his brat of a daughter. This wasn’t an accident. This was on purpose. But then I remember that Rose is part of Alan’s life. I love Alan. But I don’t know if I can keep taking it.”
