She Tricked Her Husband Into Deep Cleaning Their Entire House By Lying About Her Parents Coming Over For Dinner

This 31-year-old woman and her Husband, 33, have been married for five years and have lived together for more than 12 years in total.

They alternate who’s in charge of cooking each night and alternate who cleans each weekend.

She and her husband both work full-time, and they have two cats and no children.

Usually, her husband only deep cleans the House when some of their friends or family members are coming over to see them.

The rest of the time, he doesn’t put in as much effort and sticks to mainly just vacuuming, mopping, and Cleaning up around the house.

“I’ve asked him a couple of times if he can do a bit more during his turns, like dust, wipe down the counters, scrub the bathroom tiles (things I do when it’s my turn to clean the house),” she said.

In response, he told her that he would do his best. He did more cleaning several times, but then, after a while, he returned to making less of an effort.

Since her husband had several days off of work, by Friday, their home was messier than normal. He left junk food wrappers on the coffee table and hadn’t done laundry yet.

This past Saturday was her husband’s day to clean. She was concerned that he would do the least amount of cleaning as possible, like usual, even though she’d asked him to deep clean the house.

Because the house was in such disarray, and she knew that he had to also do laundry, she concocted a plan to get her husband to deep clean.

Since she knew that her husband only cleaned more thoroughly when they had company over, on Friday night, before they went to bed, she told her husband that her parents suggested coming over to have dinner with them on Sunday since they’d be in the area. Her husband was panicked.

“I knew he’d do a deep clean of the house because we’d have family visiting, and I was right. Saturday morning came around, and this man was up at 6 a.m. and didn’t finish cleaning until 3 p.m. He cleaned the ENTIRE house; the laundry was done and folded; he power washed the driveway and washed the outside of our windows. He went nuts; everything was spotless. I offered to help him, but he kept saying, ‘I’m good, hun, don’t worry.’ I vacuumed the rugs to try and help anyway,” she explained.

Once her husband was done with all the cleaning, he took a shower, and she took the opportunity to call her older sister, 33. She explained her scheme, and her sister said she was a jerk for lying to her husband about their parents visiting. In her sister’s opinion, she should have been honest and told him that she wanted him to clean more in-depth.

In response, she said to her sister that the lie couldn’t go on for much longer since, obviously, their parents weren’t coming over to their house the following day. However, her sister once more called her a jerk and hung up the phone.

“I ended up telling my husband right when he finished showering. I felt so bad. He actually doubled over laughing and said, ‘Well, that worked, didn’t it?’ I apologized, but he was still laughing. Then he said, ‘Don’t worry, it just means you’ve got the next two weekends in a row, now, babe. Oh, and dinner’s on you tonight.’ I laughed, said of course, and I ordered us pizza and wings,” she shared.

After she confessed the truth to her husband and it took it well, she sent her sister a text to let her know how it went. Her sister responded, saying that it was a good thing he wasn’t angry because, in her view, he had a right to be upset. After that, her sister once more told her she was still wrong for what she did.

Do you think she was wrong for tricking her husband into deep cleaning the entire house?
