Before She Disappeared While Driving Home Alone To Colorado, She Called Her Dad To Say She Was Lost In A Rural Area In Texas

Last year, a woman who just started a new job purchased a new town in her Louisiana hometown and began to drive it back to her new home in Colorado. Tragically, she got lost on the road, and no one has seen her since.

Caitlyn Rose Case is a 33-year-old woman from Houma, Louisiana, who had just made a big move to Blackhawk, Colorado. She got a new job at the Lodge Casino in 2022 and worked in their engineering department as a technical mechanic.

Caitlyn was enjoying her new job and, in the summer, decided to fly back to her hometown, purchase a new car, visit with Family, and then drive back to Colorado alone.

Caitlyn flew into Louisiana on July 31st, 2022. She got herself a 2006 black GMC Envoy, stayed in Louisiana for a few days, and left for Colorado on August 4th.

Caitlyn stayed in touch with her family throughout her travels and allegedly told them she had some issues with her navigation system.

On the second day of her trip, August 5th, Caitlyn was driving through Texas when she called her dad around 5:00 p.m.

She called him because she was lost in a rural area along Highway 271 near Bogata, Texas, and her navigation system was not working.

Her dad tried to help her manually find her way back to where she needed to be, but the call eventually cut out, most likely due to a bad connection.

That was the last time anyone from Caitlyn’s family spoke to her.

The following day, they filed a missing person’s report for Caitlyn, and police immediately began searching for her and tracking her cellphone data.

Through cell tower pings, they discovered that Caitlyn’s phone made it to Hugo, Oklahoma, a few hours after speaking to her dad, but that was the last piece of cellphone data they had.

On August 12th, Caitlyn’s brother was able to retrieve her Find My iPhone information and find the location of her cellphone.

Hugo Police headed to the spot with Caitlyn’s father, and it led them to a private, gated property where he was able to identify her car.

Caitlyn’s car was nestled between two small trees overhanging a 75-foot cliff, allegedly making it appear like someone had tried to dispose of it in the Kiamichi River. Once the car was retrieved, police found all of Caitlyn’s items inside, including her cell phone.

A local resident who lived near the property told police they allegedly saw two cars quickly enter the property on the night Caitlyn went missing, but only one left. Police believe someone other than Caitlyn drove to that property in Oklahoma and that Caitlyn did not physically enter the state herself.

Various searches have been organized to find Caitlyn, and sadly, they’ve come up with nothing. Her family is still determined to find her and uncover what happened to her last summer.

On their website dedicated to her case, FindCaitlyn.com, they’ve issued a plea for anyone with any information on their Daughter to come forward.

“We are asking for your help to bring justice to those that participated in her disappearance and help in locating where our daughter can be found,” wrote her family.

“Deceased or alive, our family will be providing a reward to the person [or] persons once the information is verified. We believe our daughter was abducted and are desperate to find answers that will finally piece together what happened to her.”

“Our family will never give up looking for our daughter and never give up fighting for the justice she deserves. Our daughter is one of the kindest, most trusting human beings on this planet.”

At the time of Caitlyn’s disappearance, she was five foot five, weighed 130 to 140 pounds, and had brown hair and brown eyes.

She also has a mole above the right side of her lip and has a tattoo of a dragonfly on her left foot, a dragon on her rib cage, and a triangle symbol on her back between the shoulder blades. She would be 34 years old today.
