Her Sister Is Livid That She Inherited The Most Valuable Pieces From Their Mom’s Jewelry Collection Through Tricking Her

When a family loses someone, it should be a time when everyone comes together to bond and grieve their loss. However, figuring out that person’s inheritance sometimes ruins that opportunity.

One woman’s sister is mad at her after she wisely selected the most valuable pieces of her mom’s jewelry collection before her passing.

Growing up, she was always inspired by her mom, who loved fashion.

“My mother loved fashion and really enjoyed dressing up,” she said.

“Her passion definitely inspired me to pursue a career in fashion, and I currently work for a luxury jewelry designer. My sister Ashley on the other hand went a more traditional route.”

Ever since they were younger, Ashley always gave her a hard time for wanting to have a career in fashion and jewelry versus something more practical.

It all started in high school when Ashley made fun of her for wanting to go to art school, and it has spiraled since, causing them to remain distant.

But recently, her knowledge of jewelry did her a favor.

Before she died, her mom took her and Ashley to her safety deposit box to split up and pick out whatever jewelry pieces of hers they’d like to keep for themselves.

Ashley immediately eyed the larger, more blingy-looking pieces, presumably thinking they were the most valuable.

But she knew something Ashley didn’t. A lot of those pieces were costume jewelry, and although they were large, it didn’t necessarily mean they were expensive.

However, she let Ashley get all excited out of spite and tried to “fight her” for them, making her believe they were extremely pricey.

“My mother had a select few pieces of fine jewelry that were more dainty, so I let my sister think that I was getting the smaller leftover pieces,” she explained.

“She’s always been preoccupied with getting the biggest and best for herself all our lives, so I let her think she was doing the same now.”

Then, she recently wore one of those smaller, nicer jewelry pieces to her aunt’s birthday party. Ashley was attending the party too.

Her aunt had noticed the jewelry she was wearing and began talking about it since she must’ve been with their mom when she bought it.

“It slipped out just how valuable the piece was,” she recalled.

“My sister overheard and was livid. She insisted on going through my picks and wanted to re-split up the pieces. I said no, and she had a meltdown at the birthday party.”

At first, she felt no remorse for what she did.

But after the birthday party, other family members are getting involved in the drama, and some believe she was wrong for fooling her sister.

Should she feel bad for taking her mother’s valuable jewelry, or did Ashley deserve what was coming to her?
