His Brother Lied And Told His Niece He Would Pay For Her To Live In Paris Since He Agreed To Do This For His Stepdaughter

This 38-year-old guy has a 40-year-old brother named Tony, whom he absolutely hates with a passion.

He and Tony simply never got along at all as they were growing up, and as of a few days ago, he hasn’t even seen Tony in 3 long years.

Anyway, he makes $180,000 a year, and his 42-year-old husband makes even more than he does. Additionally, he and his husband have a couple of incredibly profitable investments that generate a decent amount of passive income for them.

His husband has a daughter named Harmony from a previous relationship, and his husband has full custody of her.

Harmony is literally “an angel,” and he really did bond with her in a special way. He feels like Harmony is his daughter too, because they are that close.

“She is now 22, graduated from college Magna Cum Laude, and wants to work in fashion,” he explained.

“She LOVES haute couture and wants to work in Paris. The problem? Paris is expensive, and a lot of the positions that would consider her don’t pay well, especially with how expensive Paris is.”

“My husband and I decided to surprise her and sponsor her living expenses and additional allowance, so she doesn’t have to worry about income and can focus on her dream. She was ecstatic and posted on social media about it.”

Tony’s 25-year-old daughter named Joy happened to see Harmony’s post on social media, and she told Tony about it.

Joy’s dream has been to work in Paris, just like Harmony, and she’s had this dream for several years. He only knows this because his parents invited him and his husband out to dinner and said nothing about Tony coming too.

He was pretty surprised to arrive at dinner and see Tony, and the topic of Harmony living in Paris did come up that night. His parents then just kept on surprising him.

“They suggested that we sponsor Joy to go to Paris too because Harmony and Joy were basically cousins and could bond over a shared experience,” he said.

“I calmly said, “No, we aren’t responsible for financing Joy. Tony can pay for Joy if he wants her to go to Paris.” He aggressively responded that he doesn’t make enough money for that, and we are just showboating our money.”

“I said that it is not our responsibility to send Joy to Paris simply because Harmony was going. They are not sisters and don’t even have a relationship with each other. So if Tony couldn’t afford it, tough…”

Things got pretty heated at the dinner table, and then someone let it slip that Tony had informed Joy he had promised to pay for her to go to Paris, too, even though that was a complete lie.

Tony accused him of being a terrible uncle if he didn’t pay for her since he’s paying for Harmony and Harmony isn’t his biological daughter.

That comment had him seeing red, so he snapped at Tony that Joy wasn’t actually his niece since Tony wasn’t acting like a brother.

“My husband and I left, and shortly after, Joy called me begging to pay to let her go,” he continued. “I was still enraged and yelled, “I don’t understand how you and your father think you can use me as an ATM when neither of you has ever been family to me. Pay for yourself!” and I hung up.”

“After a few more hours, I have cooled down and started seeing the family backlash against me on social media.”

“A lot of people say that I am punishing Joy because I hate Tony. I’m still not going to pay for her, but Joy technically is innocent in all of this, I guess. And a lot of my resentment is towards Tony, not her.”

His mom and dad have since called him to mention that are really disappointed in how he views their family.

Do you think he’s mean for not wanting to pay for Joy to go to Paris?
