This Spring, Use Manifestation To Fuel Your Career Goals And Success

The following column is the opinion and analysis of the writer, Katharina Buczek.

Monday, March 20, marked the first day of spring– and those of us who suffer from seasonal depression are singing hallelujah.

The sun now doesn’t set immediately after we get off work, and soon, we will be able to pack away our winter coats in exchange for some shorts and t-shirts. It’s about time, right?

Now, this time of year is known for throwing out the old and ringing in the new. People tend to focus on spring cleaning, planning their travels, and ushering in a new wardrobe.

But springtime is also the perfect period to brush up on your Career goals– and actually commit to making them happen this time around.

Like many people, you might have fallen into a career rut– clocking in at 9:00 a.m., clocking out at 5:00 p.m., and just getting the bare minimum done.

While this might work for some individuals, though, it can be utterly unfulfilling for others. So, if you are ready to break the mold, step out of your monotonous routine, and set your sights on some new career goals, now is a great time to get started.

And what better launching pad is there than manifesting your career success?

Manifestation is a positive thinking and visualization technique used to attract what you want in life. Some people use it for mental health goals, fitness aspirations, or relationship desires.

However, the technique can also be applied to our career dreams.

Of course, manifestation is not some “magic fix.” And reaching new heights in your career will require some dedication, hard work, and consistency.

But manifesting your goals can still be a great way to get started– allowing you to visualize what you truly want and start reshaping your subconscious thought process.

So, here are four ways you can start manifesting your career success this year and using the springtime motivation to your total advantage.

Get Creative With A Vision Board

We have all heard of mood boards and brand boards, but vision boards are manifestation’s best friend.

The practice can consist of drawing, painting, or collage and allows you to spend some focused time thinking about what you truly want out of your career.

Plus, if you aren’t exactly sure yet, vision boarding can help you start to answer some questions. By allowing yourself to find visual imagery and texts online, you can start to figure out what you are attracted to, what makes you excited, and what completely turns you off.

So, the first step is to carve out a few hours of personal time to rest, relax, and reflect. During this time, you should grab a posterboard and some markers and peruse the internet for any pictures that really speak to you.

Once you find some images that stand out, simply print them and paste or tape them onto your vision board.

By doing this, you are primarily giving your mind a concrete example of what you are working toward. Then, you can put your vision board up at your house or in your office to visually remind you of your goals whenever you are feeling down and in need of some motivation.

Add Manifestation To Your Daily Routine

Manifestation is not a one-off wish that will be granted by some magical genie in a bottle. Instead, you can only harness the true power of manifesting by making it a part of your daily routine.

Now, this process can look different from person to person. You can start by writing down your goals in a journal and tracking your progress on a daily basis. Or, you can write out manifestation phrases and repeat them back to yourself in front of a mirror every day.

Any way you choose to integrate manifestation into your routine is totally valid. Just be sure to block out five or 10 minutes each day to complete this habit.

By remaining consistent, your goals will stay at the forefront of your mind– making it easier for you to make conscious choices that work to progress and benefit your career.

Stay Accountable By Going Public

When goals are made in private, the only person holding you accountable is yourself. But, if you go public, you have way more people to answer to.

That’s why creating a blog or posting about your career intentions on social media platforms– like LinkedIn or Twitter– can be a great accountability tool.

Of course, it may be necessary that you keep your career goals more private. For instance, if you plan to leave your current job or switch industries.

Even in these cases, though, you don’t have to keep your intentions to yourself. Share them with your partner, some friends, and family members. Speak them out loud and talk about what they mean to you and how you plan to get there.

By involving other people in your journey, you are more likely to rise to the expectations you set for yourself.

Don’t Do It Alone

Along your career goal journey, you will undoubtedly encounter obstacles and challenges. And if you feel like you are alone, you may feel inclined to push your goals back or even give up entirely.

But, if you surround yourself with like-minded people who are working toward similar aspirations, you will have a strong support system to lean on in times when you lack motivation or belief in yourself.

That’s why finding a group of career-focused individuals is critical. With professional networking platforms like LinkedIn right at our fingertips, you can find plenty of people to connect with.

But, you can also look right in your own community– finding mutual friends who either have what you want or are working toward what you want.

For instance, if your goal is to start your own business, connect with an entrepreneur who can help guide your journey. Or, if you are hoping to break into a new industry, reach out to someone who holds your ideal position and invite them to get a cup of coffee with you.

By sparking these conversations, you can pick other people’s brains to find out how to accelerate your career success. And in the meantime, you may forge fruitful friendships that can support you during tough times.
