She Went Viral After Sharing On TikTok All Of The Rules She Has For Her Upcoming Wedding

Weddings can be stressful. Sometimes it’s hard for a bride to set firm boundaries for her friends and family, and sometimes Wedding guests can arrive and behave in a way that is less than ideal.

Weddings are bound to have a little bit of drama involved, but TikTok user Jasmine Cruz (@cruzjasmine824) has created a viral list of “wedding rules” to help avoid some of it.

Jasmine may not be the first TikTok user to write down and explain a list of rules for her future wedding, but hers is one of the most popular, with over 400,000 likes and 2.6 million views.

“I love watching these videos and I wanted to do my own, and I am actually engaged, so I will actually be following these rules at my wedding coming up,” explains Cruz at the start of her video.

To kick off her list, Jasmine very passionately explains the first rule. “Number one, let’s start there because everybody gets mad about this one.

No kids. I don’t want kids running around, unattended, their parents not watching, that will absolutely not be happening,” she says.

Jasmine goes on to explain that one of the only exceptions to this rule would be her siblings that are under the age of 15.

The second rule was accidentally written twice on her list, both as #2 and #4. “Don’t wear white plain and simple,” says Cruz.

“My bridesmaids have specific instructions already to dump a whole bottle of red wine on you, so let’s just avoid that.”

TikTok users got a kick out of that rule in particular, one commenting, “Wine’s expensive, arm your bridesmaids with water guns filled with Rit dye.” To which Cruz replied, “YOU’RE ONTO SOMETHING.”

Some of Cruz’s other rules included that all of her bridesmaids be “at least a little bit part of the LGBTQ community,” which Cruz says already coincidentally worked out.

Another rule is that Cruz’s mother has “full creative liberty over everything” and that any technical questions about the wedding should be directed towards her.

In the next two rules, Cruz also requests that everyone takes advantage of the open bar at her wedding but that no drunk driving will be allowed.

“You guys can leave your cars there until the next morning, ‘thank you’ to my venue for that,” says Cruz.

“No drunk drivers, you will be drinking responsibly, but if you’re not driving, we’re getting wasted.”

One of the more unique rules of Cruz’s list is that the vendors at her wedding will get treated as guests when they take their breaks.

“If you’re on a break or when the job is done, feel free to drink as much as you want, take home the centerpiece if you want, you are a guest,” she says.

Finally, Cruz’s last rule is “no big announcements.” This means there will be no announcements like a pregnancy or someone proposing in the middle of her wedding. “Keep that to yourself,” says Cruz. “Do not come to my wedding day, taking the attention away from me and my mans.”

TikTok users found Cruz’s rules to be quite reasonable and like they should already be a standard for every wedding. “Most of these should just be considered wedding etiquette,” commented a user.

Jasmine might be on to something here; as more brides and grooms release their true “wedding rules,” the standard of wedding etiquette may be redefined.
