6 Months Ago She Left Her Mom A Distressing Voicemail Before Someone Captured A Video Of Her Looking Distraught: Where Is Kandi Gonzalez?

Prestonsburg, Kentucky. On June 1st, 36-year-old Kandi Gonzalez was obviously in need of help.

She left her mom a distressing voicemail before someone captured a video of her wandering across the Potter family’s lawn in the area of Abbott Creek Road.

In the distressing video footage that someone took on their phone, you can see that Kandi looked disoriented and confused as she walked back and forth.

She then ran towards a creek before disappearing from view. A few days later, Kandi’s family found her shoes in the creek, but she was nowhere to be found.

It’s now been 6 months since Kandi went missing, and nobody knows where she is.

Kandi wasn’t far from her own home that afternoon when she showed up on Abbott Creek Road, and according to one of Kandi’s family members, her boyfriend had just kicked her out of their house that they shared together.

Kandi was dressed in a romper and she did not have any of her personal belongings with her.

Stacy Potter owns the house Kandi was last seen at and was not home when she happened to be there. He said he and his family had never met Kandi before.

He did explain what happened the day that Kandi disappeared, as his sister-in-law was at his house helping one of their disabled family members load the car. As his sister-in-law was standing there in the driveway, some teenaged boys drove up to the house.

These boys had been doing some landscaping work at a nearby home when they saw Kandi in the yard they were working on.

“The young men stated they tried to approach her to see if she needed help. Multiple times she walked away and circled back into the yard before walking off down the main road of Abbott Creek,” Stacy said in a statement.

“The young men decided to drive ahead to see if they could help her. As they approached our address, they saw adults in the driveway and stopped to inform them of the situation.”

“That is when Ms. Gonzales entered our front yard, spoke to no one, and continued through our gate to the back yard.”

“The next few moments were somewhat chaotic, but Ms. Gonzales was approached by our sister-in-law and was offered help.”

“We have seen the video of the exchange and it is unfortunate that Ms. Gonzales did not remain on our property and wait for additional attempts to phone her mother.”

“After Ms. Gonzales exited the property the police were notified in another attempt to help Ms. Gonzales.”

“I understand that some people are upset by the comments made by one of the teenage boys.”

“While I agree the “crazy” comment was insensitive, I would ask everyone to remember that these children were making a sincere attempt to help Ms. Gonzales and the video is a just snapshot of what happened.”

Kandi’s family has started a petition to get the FBI involved in her disappearance, and they’re desperately helping that someone will come forward with information that leads them to Kandi.

They are also offering a $10,000 reward in the hopes that the money will convince people to come forward.

“6 whole months since my Daughter Kandi Green Gonzales has been missing,” Kandi’s mom Betty Jo wrote in a Facebook post.

“6 months since her son Hendrix has seen his momma, the last words I hear over and over is a voice mail pleading “Mom, Mom, Mom!!!”

“I Love you Kandi and I won’t stop till we find you… Someone knows what happened to you, where you are, and they didn’t do it alone, one day they will pay…”

Kandi has blonde hair and blue eyes. She weighs about 110 pounds and is 5’8. She was last seen wearing a pink, one-piece romper.

If you have any information on where Kandi is, please call the Floyd County Sheriff’s Department at 606-886-6171. If you would like to remain anonymous, you can call 606-949-2020.

There is a GoFundMe that has been created to help Kandi’s family search for her that you can donate to here if you would like to.
