Normally at this time of year the Legacy of the Lakes Museum would have had Classic Boat lovers having a great time at Arrowwood Resort at their classic boat show. These aren’t normal times. In lieu of the event a classic boat parade at Alexandria’s Chain of Lakes was scheduled to take place yesterday at Lake Darling, Lake Carlos, and Lake Le Homme Dieu but per the current trend of non-normalcy, it was rescheduled because of inclement weather to today and it turned out to be a beautiful day. Check out a snippet of the parade in the video below as it passed along Lake Darling’s shoreline along Casa Marina Road, through the channel to Lake Carlos and at the very end of the video, you will see some boats passing by Browns Point on their way into Big Darling. The music I chose for the video is from one of my favorite artists, Sting. The song is an instrumental version of ‘Mad About You’ and I chose it as I felt it was fitting as it seems to me that wood boat lovers do have to have a mad passion for their watercraft. If you haven’t been out for a ride in a classic boat, I can attest that it is an easy to understand passion.
