Benelli’s over-and-under 828U shotgun line is a getting a boost with the company expanding the shotgun series to now include left-handed and Compact models.
The 828U Left-Hand configuration boasts features that make operation easier and more convenient for southpaw shooters. Utilizing a reverse contoured lever, lefties are now able to open the action with their dominant hand. The gun also comes equipped with the cast already adjusted for left-handed shooters. Offering a shim kit permitting 40 different points of fine adjustments to the drop and cast, the new Left-Hand ships in either 26 or 28-inch barrel configurations.
In addition to the left version, Benelli has also added a compact variant aimed at young shooters or those with shorter arms. The 828U Compact comes with a 26-inch barrel and a 14-inch length of pull, shortened from the original 828U’s 14 3/8-inches. The 828U Compact weighs a mere 6.5-pounds and showcases an engraved nickel plated receiver.
Both new Benelli models feature the 828U’s functionality and safety with an auto-safety, easy-to-use opening lever and steel lock-plate opening system. Both the Left-Handed and Compact models are priced the same, hovering at the $2,999 mark.
