Continuing the trend of decorative gun storage, Illumisafe by Odon Inc. is the latest product to offer gun owners a crafty means to stow guns.

A fully functional smart safe hidden inside a smart lamp, the illumiSAFE is controlled via a secure, smartphone app or RFID key that accompanies each safe.

Created in response to what parent company Odon says is a “lack of attention to smart enabled safe storage,” the technologically advanced storage is constructed from sturdy materials aimed at keeping valuable secure. The outer casing features carbon steel while the innards are made from aluminum.

When engaged, the inner casing propels itself upward allowing gun owners to readily access their firearm. In all, the lamp takes a total of 3 seconds to fully open. However, the company says a firearm only model is in the works and will reduce that time to less than 1 second.

Multiple configurations of the design are available, allowing customers to dial-in specific storage needs. The safe comes ready to wear a variety of lamp bodies from brass, glass, stone, walnut and even mother of pearl. Odon says more styles are in the works and the company anticipates offering over 100 styles by spring of 2018.

Though Odon hasn’t released specifics on availability or pricing, the illumiSAFE is set to appear on Kickstarter in the near future.
