I have recently discovered the 401 Tavern in Hampton, NH and it has become my new favorite restaurant! The menu is varied and is loaded with options that are sure to please any palate.

This restaurant first came to my attention when I attended the Christmas Party Gala hosted by the restaurant annually for the Hampton Chamber of Commerce After Hours.  Prior to that time, we had read online reviews which were not so favorable so we had never chosen to give it a try. The lesson learned here is don’t believe everything you read on the internet!

The restaurant was packed for this networking event.  Imagine my surprise when course after course of Delicious appetizers and wonderful cocktails were served and proved to be unique, as well as delicious.

In the past week I have been here three times. My first selection was Steak Tips along with mashed potatoes and green beans, which were cooked to perfection.  My cocktail of choice was a Blueberry Limoncello Martini that was to die for.

The other night I had BBQ ribs which were out of this world and, of course, there was enough to have a second meal at home.

Tonight, I had a Caesar Salad (think healthyish) with Steak Tips.  Tempted by dessert that I knew I shouldn’t have, but which I felt I had earned, I ordered the Key Lime Pie, which was as good as any I have ever had in Florida.

Long story short, stop by the Tavern.   It’s not your typical tavern, the menu is extensive.  And if you like beer, you’ve found your place! Oh, and before 5:00 o’clock you get an appetizer/cocktail, entrée and dessert for under $20. If you don’t have room they will pack it to go!  Tell them I sent you!
