Giveacar staff visit Children with Cancer Charity

Hello readers, I’m Tracey – Giveacar’s Administration Executive. I wanted to share my experience of a visit to Children with Cancer in December.  All things considered, this is a very emotive subject any time but with the spirit of Christmas in the air, we were all aware of how privileged we were to be invited to meet the team at Children with Cancer.

When I arrived in central London for our meeting, I was met by the happy smiley staff at the charity. Brittany, Children with Cancer’s Corporate Partnerships Manager took us to a wonderful place called George’s Cafe situated in a beautiful church. I’d highly recommend the mint tea, it was really good.  She explained the great work and support which Children with Cancer UK provide to their very needy service users. What struck me the most, was the incredible and groundbreaking research that the charity conducted into children’s cancer and the essential support that is provided to the families.  One example of this is the funding of welfare projects, which help with the travelling expenses and accommodation as sometimes these can be very costly for the families whilst the child is receiving treatment away from home. We were also told about precision medicine and the great and innovative approach to each individual personalised and preventative treatment.

Children with Cancer has such a dedicated team and their enthusiasm is contagious. We discussed plenty of big fundraising events that are scheduled for 2019 of which we are going to be part of, all going well.

Giveacar and its donors are proud supporters of Children with Cancer and the amazing work they do. Many customers have donated lots of unwanted cars to this worthwhile charity, but it is so important to keep donating to raise as much money as we can to support the good work this charity does.

Thank you, Children with Cancer, for such an important meeting and a memorable day overall.
