A Canadian Natural Gas operator purchased a line that did not meet their safety standards, an inspection of the line showed that the pipe had mechanical damage, specifically a dent. Further, the ASME PCC-2 standard did not provide direction for re-rating the line. The service provider turned to the engineers at NRI for a design solution.
