For the 3rd consecutive year, Interstate Container team joins together to support Mountaire Farm’s 20th annual ‘Thanksgiving for Thousands’ Food Drive.
In line with the true spirit of Thanksgiving, Interstate Container works together with Mountaire Farms to pack and distribute 13,500 dinner boxes to over 45,000 Delmarva residents and over 14,000 residents in North Carolina (NC). On November 24, 2014, the Thanksgiving for Thousands program brought together hundreds of volunteers, including employees from Mountaire and Interstate Container, in Selbyville, DE and Lumber Bridge, NC to prepare the boxes in time for the Thanksgiving holiday.
Anne Potterton, Interstate Container Regional Sales Manager, shares,
“It is gratifying to support Mountaire Farms in this worthy project. Helping those in need and being grateful for what we have is what this season is all about.”
Celebrating its 20th year, the Thanksgiving for Thousands program by Mountaire Farms continuously instills community spirit and promotes enduring partnerships and friendships among contributing companies, residents, and other supporting entities. Last year the program expanded to include Mountaire’s Lumber Bridge, NC facility and surrounding community.
Within each Thanksgiving dinner box, recipients will find all the necessary ingredients to prepare a nutritious home-cooked Thanksgiving meal for up to six people, including a Mountaire roaster, corn, string beans, yams, stuffing mix, gravy, cranberry sauce and brownie mix. The week of Thanksgiving, volunteers will distribute the dinner boxes to food pantries, governmental agencies, churches, and shut-ins.
In support of the Mountaire’s annual campaign, Interstate Container plants in Cambridge, MD and Reading, PA worked closely with suppliers Mark/Trece, Inc. and Stafford Cutting Dies, Inc. to produce and donate the 13,500 corrugated boxes for the drive.
