Eitex Support Local Charity

On Sunday 22nd September 2019, our team braved the weather to battle other teams in an ‘It’s A Knockout’ tournament.  The tournament was to support local charity The Prince of Wales Hospice – raising over £900 altogether.

Team building

On the lead up to the event our team worked together, raising money with a joint giving page.

The event began with warm-up exercises and a lap around the field. Our team, Eitex, did four gruelling challenges. The first challenge saw us jumping over obstacles whiles trying to carry a bucket of freezing water on our heads.

A highlight of the day was seeing Chris, our lead engineer, dressed up and blindfolded while trying to get foam pizza’s into an oven.

Local Charities Rely on Local Support

The Prince of Wales Hospice provides a free vital service to our most vulnerable community members as they cope with life-limiting illnesses. But the hospice is also there to support carers. These need practical help and a friendly ear to get them through difficult times.

The NHS only covers one-third of the hospice costs. Therefore, fundraising and donations are needed to care for 7 out of 10 patients. The hospice would struggle to exist without the support of local people.

The Prince of Wales Hospice 30th anniversary

November 2019 marks 30 years since the Hospice first opened its doors to patients. To celebrate, they are doing lots of special events. We volunteered to join the 30 for 30 campaign. The 30 for 30 campaign aims to engage companies in the Five Towns area pledging their support as a “Charity of the Year” partner of the Hospice seeking to raise £1,000, therefore, generating a total of £30,000.

As well as joining in events to support local charity The Prince of Wales Hospice, we are also Club 5 members. Club 5 is a business networking group. It enables local businesses to network together whilst supporting the hospice.

Thank you to everyone who donated and supported us!
