Do You Want To Get More Eyes On Your Content?

If you’ve been reading my blog for any length of time, you’ll know I’m a huge believer in blogging regularly. And I know I’ve written more than one post about how important it is to not just publish your post on your blog and leave it at that. It’s all about content marketing!

Yes the search engines will pick up your content if you use good keywords, and people might find it if they visit your blog. But what about those who don’t know you? Those who have never been to your website or blog? How will they find all of that great content you’ve written if they don’t know it exists?

Publish your blog posts on additional blogging channels to get more eyes on your content!

If you want to get more eyes on your “stuff,” you have to get it out in front of more eyes! A great way to do that (in addition to promoting your posts on all of your social media channels) is to publish it on some of the various 3rd party blogging aggregators/channels. There are 4 I’ve gotten in the habit of republishing to on a regular basis to get more bang for my buck and make content marketing really easy. They are …

LinkedIn Publisher:
For Linkedin Publisher, I wait about 2 weeks after posting the article on my blog, and always include “This post was first published on the BizEase Support Solutions blog!” with a link to the post near the bottom of the article, right above my bio. This establishes the origin of the post, and also provides a link back to my website. Since these articles are associated with your LinkedIn profile, they get a LOT of traffic, and can really add credibility! The really great thing about posting on LinkedIn Publisher is that everyone on LinkedIn can see your posts – not just your contacts. This feature alone expands your reach exponentially.

Medium:
Medium is another site I post to on a regular basis. It’s all about the “story,” and is super easy to use. To make it extra easy, I’ve installed the Medium plugin on my WordPress blog, so whenever I publish a post it sends it over to Medium. However … I have the plugin set to send it over as a draft so I can wait 2 weeks before publishing live. In addition to being able to wait a couple of weeks to publish like I do on LinkedIn, it also gives me the opportunity to remove the content it pulls over from my opt-in box at the bottom of my posts, and make any changes to the article before going live. I’ve also enabled one of the settings in the plugin so it adds a link similar to the one I add to my LinkedIn post, establishing the origin of the post and providing a link back to my website. The plugin also adds “Also published on Medium” to the bottom of the post on my blog with a link to my Medium account.

Triberr:
Rather than me attempting to describe it, Triberr says it best: “Triberr is a social network for bloggers. The idea is to find other bloggers who write about the same topics. These writers group up in a tribe. Whenever one blogger writes a post, the others read, comment and share it with their social networks.” I use the Triberr plugin on my blog so it auto-posts all of my posts to Triberr. You can either use the plugin, or just add your blog RSS feed to your account. Either way, they are published automatically. I’m not very active in  the joining, sharing and commenting aspect of Triberr, but it’s a great way to get your content in front of new people.

Tumblr:
Then there is Tumblr. Overall, Tumblr is for a younger audience, but it’s still one more place to get those proverbial eyes on your stuff You can post directly to Tumblr. Or if you’re lazy like I am, you can make sure you have a Tumblr social sharing button on your blog and share your content that way. With the social sharing button, you can share immediately or put it in the queue to share at random times. And, it also gives others an opportunity to share your content to their Tumblr account. The end results are the same no matter which method you use.

Share blog posts on Medium, LinkedIn Publisher, Triberr and Tumblr for more exposure!Click To Tweet

Publishing your posts to 4 additional platforms might seem like a lot of work, but it’s really not. The LinkedIn Publisher post is done manually, but is a highly effective form of content marketing, and totally worth the time. Publishing to the other 3 channels can be automated by using plugins and a social sharing button, so it takes no time at all, yet gets your content in front of a variety of different audiences. And my favorite saying about that is …

More eyes on your stuff = more visibility. More visibility = more clients!

So what are you waiting for? Content marketing doesn’t just happen, it takes a little effort. So what are you waiting for? Get your stuff out there!
