The Landlord Conference 2022 Feedback

Our joint Conference with NRLA – the Landlord Conference, ‘Facing up to the Future’ took place on Tuesday (15 November 2022), and I think it can be safely said it was a resounding success.

We ended up having just under 500 delegates, which along with all the exhibitors and speakers, meant a lot of people in the room!

The pictures above show a couple of shots of the keynote talk in action and me and some of my team (Tina, my assistant, and Gill, who does all my web work).

The keynote speaker was the Minister, Felicity Buchan, MP for Kensington, who is the very recently appointed Parliamentary Under Secretary of State in the Department for Levelling Up, Housing and Communities.  A bit of a tongue-twisting job title, I must say!

Bearing in mind that she had only been in post for about two weeks, I thought she put up a pretty good show.  Ben (Beadle, CEO of the NRLA) and I put some difficult questions to her, which she answered as well as could be expected in the circumstances.

There were some really stonkingly good talks.

I particularly enjoyed the talks from Kate Faulkner on buying property, Justin Bates on the circuitous route taken to the Housing and Planning Act 2016 and the forthcoming Renters Reform Bill, David Smith’s roundup of recent legal developments and the talk from Russell Smith of Retrofit Works in the afternoon on what you need to do about retrofitting your properties.

If you were there, I hope you enjoyed it as much as I did.  If you weren’t – I suspect there will be another one coming along next year …
