I’m speaking next month at the Solicitors Journal Live Conference and it suddenly hit me this afternoon that I have got to get my notes in by Wednesday.
So I have been doing a bit of work on them.
I was doing a bit of a legislation recap intro thing, and it made me realise that a lot of the problems we had have been plagued with over the years have been plugged to a certain extent, or are likely to be soon – tenancy deposits, retaliatory eviction, Local Authority enforcement funding, even letting agent accountability.
There is still a long way to go before we have a perfect private rented sector (and maybe if the Chancellor has his way we won’t have a PRS at all) but quite a lot has been done.
