Google Expeditions is a virtual-reality (VR) teaching tool.
It enables you to swim with sharks, walk through a museum, visit outer space, and explore more wonderful experiences without leaving the classroom. There are nearly 500 Expeditions available and more are in development.

So how would you get started?
You can get started by either buying the kit or by building your own kit.

Get an Expeditions kit
In case you are building your set, then you must have the following things
- A mobile device, preferable tablet for the guide (teacher)
- Mobile phones along with suitable VR viewers for learners
- A router to allow the Expeditions to run over local wi-fi network
The Mobile phone must have a gyroscope and accelerometer and 1 GB ram with Android 4.4 and later or iOS 8.0 and later
Next you have to download the Expeditions app on your mobile phone and select the role of ‘Guide’ if you are going to lead your class and click the ‘Lead’ button.
For Learners, they can click the ‘Follow’ button and follow the guide.
You are now ready to immerse your learners with the VR experience that your learners would definitely enjoy.
