How It Works

Between May 11 and June 23, those who play Pokémon: Let’s Go, Eevee! and Pokémon: Let’s Go, Pikachu! can participate. Those who participate can get a Shiny Eevee or Shiny Pikachu, respectively.

To get the exclusive Pokémon, users just have to download the free Pokémon Pass application. The application also comes with a bonus sticker of Detective Pikachu. When you visit a designated retail location, meaning a participating Target, you get exclusive digital rewards. The Pokémon Pass application will utilize your geolocation to let you know about nearby rewards. You then go through prompts and scan a QR code in the store to get the Shiny Eevee or Shiny Pikachu.

It Benefits Both Target and Pokémon

The result of this partnership presents advantages to both Pokémon and Target. Pokémon gets additional advertising, which is timely given the release of the “Detective Pikachu” movie. The company also gets more users to download its applications for mobile devices.
