CNG Urbanway Buses for Seville

Urban Transport of Seville, Municipal Public Corporation (TUSSAM) has acquired 13 Iveco Urbanway vehicles of 12 meters in length, which use compressed natural gas (CNG) as fuel. The bus purchase is in line with TUSSAM’s commitment to reduce the consumption of fossil fuels and associated polluting emissions.

These low-floor vehicles, whose investment has amounted to € 3.1 million (USD 3.8 m), comply with the Euro VI emissions standard, which guarantees minimum emissions of nitrogen oxides and particles, and with the UNE 17001-1 Standard regarding the Global Accessibility requirement.

These vehicles will provide service on line 29, managed by Casa-Baixbus, which connects Torreblanca with the Prado de San Sebastián, also passing through Los Arcos, Gran Plaza Nervión and San Bernardo, all districts in the eastern part of Seville.

The line, with a length of 20 kilometers and 21 stops per direction, provides coverage of more than 90% of the 20,000 inhabitants of the neighbourhood. In the past year 2017 line 29 made 94,500 expeditions with 890,000 kilometers traveled, transporting 2.1 million passengers.
