Jio users enjoy faster download speeds than Airtel and Vodafone Idea at ICC World Cup stadiums, according to Opensignal report

In a recent report by Opensignal, it has been revealed that Jio users have enjoyed faster download speeds than Airtel and Vodafone Idea at the ICC World Cup stadiums. The study examined the mobile network experience across the stadiums and 40 largest cities in India to assess the performance of Indian mobile operators ahead of the ICC World Cup.

According to the report, Jio’s 5G download speeds were found to be 25.5% faster than that of Airtel. This is a significant lead for Jio, showcasing their commitment to providing their users with top-notch internet speeds. However, Airtel didn’t fall far behind as they dominated in the upload speeds category at the stadiums, providing the fastest network-upload speeds.

While Jio and Airtel battled it out in the 5G arena, Vodafone Idea was expected to have better performance with over-the-top voice services. The report indicated that Vodafone Idea leads in voice app experience with an impressive score of 78.7. This highlights their strength in delivering high-quality voice services to their users.

When it comes to voice apps on 5G networks, Airtel emerged as the winner. Users experienced the best voice app experience on Airtel’s 5G network, solidifying their position as a reliable provider of seamless voice services.

One area where Jio truly shines is their ability to maintain a strong 5G signal for its users. The report states that Jio users spend more than 50% of their time with an active 5G signal. This is 2.6 times higher than Airtel, indicating that Jio users are more likely to enjoy uninterrupted connectivity at the cricket stadiums.

The report also delved into video streaming quality for cricket matches. Airtel dominated the list of cities with the best live video streaming quality, both overall and on the 5G network. With impressive download speeds of 30.5 Mbps overall and 274.5 Mbps on 5G, Airtel proved to be a reliable choice for those wanting to stream cricket matches without any buffering issues. Jio, on the other hand, topped the list in 22 cities, while Vodafone Idea took the lead in 15 cities for live video streaming.

Looking ahead to the ICC World Cup 2023, which is set to be held in India across 10 stadiums starting on October 5, Bharti Airtel users can expect great network performance and the fastest upload speeds in all the stadiums. The report highlighted Airtel’s strong performance in this aspect, cementing their reputation as a reliable network provider.
