FEMA Disaster Assistance for Maui Residents

The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) has developed extensive resources for families in need. Apply here for financial assistance and housing aid.

SBA Business Recovery Center

Small businesses who are facing loss of income, damage to their facility or equipment, and other challenges from the Maui wildfires can apply to the Small Business Administration for a disaster loan. 

Unemployment Benefits

Individuals who are out of work due to the disaster can apply for disaster unemployment benefits through the state of Hawaii. 

Medical Services for Affected Maui Residents

Mobile Medical Care in Lāhainā

Multiple clinics and medical organizations across Maui are providing mobile medical care for affected residents. More information can be found here or call 808-984-8201 for more information. No appointment is necessary and no insurance coverage is required to receive care.

Lāhainā Health Center

The Lāhainā Health Center sponsored by the Hawaiʻi Department of Health is open seven days a week from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The clinic is located on Akoakoa Place, below the Lāhainā Civic Center. No appointment is necessary and no insurance coverage is required.

Maui residents in need of first aid, wound care, health and wellness checks, and pharmacy services can find assistance on the west side at Napili Plaza and Lāhainā  Gateway from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Monday to Friday. No insurance coverage or appointment is needed.

First Aid Care from Kaiser Permanente

Kaiser Permanente’s mobile health vehicle is located at Lāhainā Gateway to provide some medical services and pediatric care from Monday to Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., and Saturday, 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. OB/GYN services are available on Fridays at this location.

Kaiser has developed an additional first aid station at the Hyatt Regency Lāhainā in the Lāhainā  Ballroom. Services are also provided at this location from Monday to Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., and Saturday, 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

Emergency Prescription Assistance Program Available to Uninsured Maui Residents

Maui residents who need prescription medications or medical equipment and do not have health insurance that covers prescriptions can apply to the Emergency Prescription Assistance Program (EPAP). Call the EPAP hotline at 855-793-7470 to verify your eligibility and register. Prescriptions will be valid for 30 days as long as the EPAP program remains in place in Maui.

Assistance From Hawaiʻi Department Of Health

The Hawaiʻi Department of Health (DOH) has launched a call center to help connect affected Maui residents with the non-emergency medical services, mental health care, and other medical services that they need. For information and assistance, call 833-833-3431 or 808-586-4468 Monday through Friday from 7:45 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Temporary Housing Assistance & Relief Available for Homeowners

Neighbors Helping Neighbors: The Spirit of Ohana

Thousands of Maui residents are homeless following the wildfires. The Hawaiʻi Housing Finance and Development Corporation is working to connect people in need with available homes, apartments, and vacation rentals to provide relief. Available units can be found here or by calling 808-587-0469 between 7:45 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Have an Empty Room & Want To Help?

Homeowners in Hawaiʻi who have an extra room, home, or vacation rental that they wish to make available to people in need of housing relief can offer their unit through the Hawaii Housing Finance and Development Corporation.
