Lionel Messi played his last game of the season for Inter Miami, and it didn’t go well. They lost 1-0 to Charlotte FC. Even though Messi tried hard, Inter Miami couldn’t make it to the playoffs. Charlotte FC, on the other hand, won and got into the playoffs for the first time.

The only goal of the game was scored by Kerwin Vargas in the 13th minute. Messi had some close chances to score, but it didn’t happen. Charlotte’s goalie, Kristijan Kahlina, made some really good saves to stop Inter Miami.

Now, Charlotte FC is in the playoffs and will play against the New York Red Bulls. Inter Miami finished 14th in their conference and didn’t have a great season. Their coach, Gerardo “Tata” Martino, said the team was tired from playing too many games.

Messi did well individually, scoring 11 goals in 14 games. Inter Miami won some games and even got their first trophy, the Leagues Cup. But Messi got injured in another competition, the U.S. Open Cup, and that hurt the team’s chances in the MLS.

Messi will play in two exhibition matches in China for Inter Miami and then take a break before getting ready for the next season in 2024.
