My discussion on the Main topic for this week: how to make money from your Website or Blog is divided into 4 subtopics.
1. Why there is need for blogs or websites?
2. Quality content or information is King of everything else
3. Beyond the quality content, what are other ways to reach to larger audiences?
4. How to monetize your creations and earn from your website or Blogs.

I would like to ask this question from my visitors that why many firms, business organisations, educational institutions and individuals aspire to have online presence in the form of websites, blogs, emails, forums, web groups etc. Barring Business firm’s motives, why suddenly in last 2-3 years lots of celebrity started blogging or owning a website through which they supposedly interact with his/her fans. See how in just last 6-8 months lots of Indian famous personalities Amitabh Bachhan, Lalu Yadav, Shahrukh Khan, Amir Khan etc have their blog on their name. Well, many of us will say that there are dearth of update information on their activities, biographies and other stuff. Basically what we are identifying here is these blogs/websites are bridging the gap of quality information, I mean authentic and update information. Yes, primary reasons behind the many celebrity blogs are quality information about their life and their activities. But what are secondary reasons. I’ll take this in later half of this article. Why many firms and business organisations have their website and discussion groups (e.g. Sun Micro system etc) because they want their existing and prospective customer to get authentic and update information about their product & services, and the organisation itself as well as most importantly provides online transaction means to sell their products and promote about organisation and its products and services. So here what’s more important is the building and sustaining the brand through web marketing. Now for educational and academic institutions I would definitely say there has been single motive to provide quality information and tools to facilitate delivery of content, lectures etc. But you can see that fundamentally what’s common among all these ways is quality information.”
I like to discuss while focusing more on such websites which are mostly owned, maintained by either individual or small teams. I can give you examples of great website/blog running having thousands of impression, visit every month. And Most of them, I think, these blog and website are not that great in design, layout and even navigation but super rich in quality information. Those are just ordinary looking websites. And it’s their real strength, in marketing terminology USP (unique selling proposition). Take the case of this website: Sarkarinaukri.blogspot.com it provides information about government jobs in India and job vacancies, the main information are updated even on hourly basis. Take the case of another very good site having same sort of texture is CoffeeDetective.com. It again simply provided quality information on particular topic i.e coffee. Needless to say it attracts thousands of visitors from across the globe. I know such list can go on and on. Well, so what they really get out of, if they are so successful in helping others to get quality information on particular topic. OK , of course many blogger or websites owner these are sources of great enjoyment and funs to share the information and experiences with others. Fundamentally, there are few people who are capable of good cogent writing, photography, decent computer skill nevertheless passion to share their likes and dislikes with even strangers. This is really strange. World Wide Web let it happen with at most ease. But what keeps them motivated enough to update the information to improve the quality of information. Well lots of feedback, positive comments and small earning from their website/blog as token of appreciation for their passion and giving’s. Remember my earlier article on ‘power of giving’. Many website owner demands it explicitly as donation to the website but it has many issues. Starting from transaction issues to beneficiary, participant’s issues. So why not you can monetize your efforts and hard work at same time you have lots of fun to create the quality content on web because it has to be your hobbies, interest and passion as well. I want to make clear here that what I mean quality content is having authentic, update (might not be applicable for archive kind of info) and useful information. Proportions of reward are directly congruous to the volume of quality content you have. Even decent design, layout and navigation can work well for you.
