Building links from podcasts

A few months ago I was checking it out where one of the specialized sites got their backlinks and noticed that the size of a piece of their backlinks came from going to podcasts so I decided to become a guest on as many podcasts as possible.

I have been featured on over 50 podcasts not only have these podcasts sent some serious traffic my way but they have resulted in tons of high-quality backlinks going straight to our next technique creating branded strategies and methods.

A few years ago I was looking for some productivity tips and I came across this thing called Inbox Zero product approach where you use your inbox as your to-do list but that wasn't what caught my attention what shocked me was that simple idea over 5000 backlinks were created.

When I looked at these backlinks I noticed a pattern that most people associated with the page because they identified a strategy with a unique name Inbox Zero this is when I decided that I would try to name my strategies to the next time I talked about a strategy on my blog.

I called it skyscraper technology how it went the post I first mentioned Skyscraper technology has been linked more than 9000 times if you look at these links 90% of them are due to the fact that I gave my strategy a unique brand name well proceed to Strategy number five.

Become a source for reporters and bloggers

Fortunately, this is not so difficult as it seems most likely this is quite possible thanks to a free service called HARO as a dating PR site HARO connects bloggers and journalists who need sources for people who want links and press mentions.

Personally, I used it to build links to huge news sites like Entrepreneur.com to be clear, this strategy requires work and it is not always easy, but in my experience, it is one of the best ways to build high-quality backlinks on a large scale.

Let's dive into the process step by step first register as a source once you register you will receive three emails a day from journalists looking for sources like this when you find an application that seems quite suitable send them your pitch for example for a while I saw an application.

So someone wants to know what's the difference between graphic design and web design so I made this pitch and got this sweet link from rasmussen.edu which is a reliable educational field and is not bad then, we have Strategy number six.

 Pre-awareness pre-communication

A while ago one of my readers named Emil was preparing to publish this epic piece of content, but for that to happen he would need to build links, so Emil decided to promote his position before he published it.

And he sent them this message because he didn't beg for a link most of the people Emil talked to were happy to hear from him and then as soon as Emil's post was published he sent a link to everyone that responded to his first email and it led to a bunch of social posts.

And nice contextual backlinks so, it's time for the seventh strategy.

Edu build a resource page link

It's no secret that links from education websites are very powerful the question is how do you actually get university websites to link to your resource pages.edu here's how it works most universities have resource pages where they link to content that can be helped by students and faculty.

Here is an example of a resource page that links to content about nutrition and supplements for example let's say you have a website about nutrition first you want to find resource pages like the one I just showed you to do so pop this search in Google.

Then look to see if a part of your content will be suitable for that Page finally send an email to the person who manages that resource page this script is installed now keep this in mind this is the bad news the good news is even one or two of these links.

It can make a big difference in your Google rankings I recently used this strategy to get a link from this resource page on the University of Michigan website this single link has made a huge impact on my organic traffic if you think this is great wait until you see Strategy number eight.

The way of the moving man

The method of the moving man is simple first look for resource web pages or outdated companies that have just been rebranded or names that have been changed recently and then look for sites that are still linked to these outdated resources and finally let people know about it.

Let me show you how this works with a real-life example a while ago I read this site a big SEO agency was suddenly shut down which means they have tons of pages on their site that don't work anymore.

The pages that attracted by a lot of people were still specifically linked I noticed that an SEO infographic on their site was no longer working which was perfect because I had just published my Infographic focused on SEO.

This was the first step after that, I had to see who actually linked to this graph so I launched hrefs and pulled all their links finally I sent an email to everyone that is still linked to this graph telling them that the image no longer works as I inform them that my Infographic.

It would be a great alternative for BlueGlass as you can see people were also more than happy to link to me talking about info fix it's time to build our last link.

Search for guest posting opportunities with Google Photos That's right I said guest posting now a lot of people say that when it comes to link building guest posting is dead but is it true Not true when you're just starting out guest posting is one of the best ways to build links to your site.

I made sure to write guest posts only for quality sites in my specialty and write a guest post for a site about iPhones this will seem undesirable, but when you write amazing guest posts for quality sites in your field these links help the question is how are you doing.

Search for sites to post guests on Google Photos This is a step-by-step process first find someone in your niche who writes a lot of guest posts second gets the title URL of the headshot they use in their author's bio.

Finally, enter an address URL This is in Google Reverse Image Search and boom, you get a list of places that guest post presented to you on a very cool silver platter here you are nine of my favorite link-building strategies of all time.
