What did Rovo do?

Rovo was a Singapore-based app that connected amateur athletes to competitors of a similar skill level, tracked their performance, and helped teams of players schedule games. The app provided users with a service to find tennis players with the desired skill set around their location. Rovo focused on games through online forums and social media groups, helped users to create a personal profile and discover fellow players or coaches in their area. The app also offered a variety of workouts such as bodyweight, dumbbell, HIIT, fitness, and yoga workouts that could be done at home.

Rovo raised a total of $473,000 in funding over 1 round. Its latest funding round was a Seed round on August 14, 2018 for $473,000. 2 investors participated in its latest round, led by East Ventures.

Why did they go out of business?

There were a number of other social sports platforms that had emerged in recent years, such as Playo, Picket, and Meetup. These platforms offered similar features to Rovo, and they may have been able to attract more users.

According to a petition on Change.org, the owners of the app decided to shut down Rovo due to the lack of resources and support.
