As Gujarat Titans completed a comfortable victory over Delhi Capitals today, the Orange Cap has seen a lot of shuffles in the bottom half. However, Rutturaj Gaikwad and Kyle Mayers have continued their domination at the top and are still ranked Number 1 and Number 2 respectively.
Warner slow but steady
David Warner was once again the highest scorer for Delhi Capitals today. However, in his 2 outings, David Warner has not been his aggressive self. Rather, he has been playing slow and trying to play a long inning rather than his usual wham-slam cricket. Warner played a slow inning of 37 runs from 32 balls and has now climbed to the third spot with 93 runs to his name. However, his strike rate has dropped significantly and is just 116.25 this season.
Shubman Gill disappoints
Shubman Gill, Gujarat Titans’ last match hero failed to deliver in this game and was just dismissed for just 14 runs. Nonetheless, he has managed to climb 2 spots and is now 6th in the Orange Cap table.
Sai Sudarshan, GT’s new match winner
A surprising entry into the Orange Cap race today was Sai Sudarshan. Sai Sudarshan scored 62 not out and anchored Gujarat’s chase against Delhi Capitals. With 84 runs to his name in 2 games, he has overtaken his teammate Shubman Gill to be Gujarat’s best batter currently. He has surpassed Virat Kohli to take the number 5 spot on the list. Vijay Shankar has also made it into the top 10. He is currently at the 10th spot with 56 runs to his name.
