New Study Shows Possible Link Between Vitamin D Deficiency and Postpartum Depression

A new Study suggests that there may be a link between vitamin D deficiency and postpartum depression (PPD). The study was conducted by researchers at the University of Michigan Medical School and found that women who had low levels of vitamin D during pregnancy were more likely to experience symptoms of PPD in the first few weeks after childbirth. PPD affects approximately one in seven women and can cause feelings of sadness, anxiety, and exhaustion. The study emphasizes the importance of getting enough vitamin D during pregnancy and may lead to interventions to help prevent PPD.
