SKODA KUSHAQ AND SKODA SLAVIA- The Safest Family Cars with GNCAP Rating.

Global NCAP Criteria

NCAP – New Car Assessment Program usually focuses on the safety feature in the car and analyzes how well the car performs in different Crash Tests (Frontal, Side). The program aims to diagnose Occupant Safety in case of collision and how effectively the features and safety equipment offer enhanced protection to car occupants including Adults and Children.

Prioritizing customer safety is a major strategy of the Skoda. Skoda’s well-built and one of the hot-selling sedans, Slavia recently underwent crash tests at the Global NCAP facility, where the sedan proved its strong built quality and bagged the highest 5-star rating for adult as well as child protection.

Global NCAP introduced new protocols recently to maintain the safety performance of cars. The protocols are designed to evaluate a few parameters such as A 64km/h offset deformable barrier frontal impact, with minimal changes in evaluation, a 50km/h MDB side impact, Front and rear seatbelt reminders, Electronic Stability Control, Pedestrian Protection, side pole test, Adult Occupant Protection and Child Occupant Protection. Crash ratings approved by New Car Assessment Programs (NCAP) are a reliable measure of a car’s safety.

SKODA Kushaq and Safety Features

Škoda Kushaq comes with first-class safety features by prioritizing passengers’ safety during their journeys.

Analysing how well-engineered Skoda cars are, it is apparent that Kushaq has aced crash tests of Global NCAP with flying colours and is regarded as the safest car in India. Skoda implemented MQB-A0-IN to satisfy the safety norms and requirements. Also, it scored 42 and 29.64 points in child protection and adult occupant protection, the highest for any Indian-made vehicle evaluated by Global NCAP.

Skoda Kushaq offers numerous safety features which include dual front airbags, ESC, ABS, EBD, traction control, rollover protection, multi-collision braking, motor slip regulation, three-point seatbelts for all five seats, ISOFIX child seat anchorage for rear seats and tyre pressure monitoring system. Additionally, Kushaq is designed with six airbags, and hill hold control.

It is also designed with sophisticated automobile technology such as the Electronic Stability Control meant to offer a convenient driving experience. Electronic Stability Control (ESC) is a significant safety feature found in advanced Skoda Kushaq. The safety feature supports the driver to gain better control of the vehicle specifically when breaking hard and abrupt manoeuvre.  The ESC system controls major aspects of the vehicle like wheel brakes and the engine throttle to prevent the car from barrelling into other vehicles.

Electronic Stability Control focuses on important parameters of Kushaq such as steering, speed, throttle and rotation around the car’s vertical axis to evaluate the lack of stability. With the help of its control unit, ESC evaluates the data and if the wheel speeds do not resemble then it decreases the power supplied to the wheels to overcome skidding.

Understeer and oversteer are managed efficiently which helps the vehicle to regain its control and resume with maximum traction from the tyres. In adverse conditions, ESC brakes one or more wheels, letting the driver control the vehicle efficiently. Despite other safety features, ESC is must have feature for our Indian roads which are usually uneven and narrow.

ESC is the prominent safety feature that adds to Kushaq’s conquest in achieving a five-star safety rating in the Global New Car Assessment Program. It does not require any human intervention and automatically induces brakes to individual wheels based on the condition which makes it the safest car.

SKODA Slavia and Safety Features

The Skoda Slavia secured a five-star safety rating from NCAP, which indicates better performance in crash protection as well as for adult and child occupant protection. Skoda Slavia is equipped with active and passive features. Similar to any other modern car, Skoda Slavia comes with remote keyless entry, reverse parking sensors and an anti-theft alarm which are considered standard across the range.

The Skoda Slavia comes with a 1.5-litre TSI engine that generates 150PS and a 1-litre TSI engine that generates 115PS and 178Nm of torque. It also consits of different transmission options such as a 6-speed manual that is the default, a 6-speed automatic (for the 1-litre engine) and a 7-speed DSG (1.5 liters).

Following the path of rivals, Slavia has numerous safety features such as 6 Airbags, ESC, multi-collision Brake, ISOFIX anchors, automatic headlights and wipers, electronic differential, hill-hold control, automatic brake disc cleaning, parking sensors and many more beneficial features. The higher-spec variants can be classified as push start-stop button, which feature an access button on the door handles.

However, ISOFIX anchors are one of the prominent safety features specifically designed for child security in the car. ISOFIX is a standardised child seat fitting system. Car seats vary in terms of shape, design and size as well as the length of a seatbelt and seatbelt anchorages. These differences cause issues to adjust a child seat correctly and securely. Moreover, most of the surveys reveal that child car seats are fitted incorrectly, letting them fail in securing a kid in adverse conditions.

ISOFIX anchors equipped in Skoda Slavia aim to solve the issue and offer an easier and more secure way of attaching child seats in a car. The anchors are fixed in such a way that it does not require the car’s seatbelt to secure the child’s seat. ISOFIX anchored cars consist of designed fitting points, which could be a metal clip that’s found in the base of the seat of the car. A secure anchorage for the child seat is offered by the ISOFIX anchors which keep the child safe in case of any car tips or rolls over. Therefore, both the adult and child safety features of Skoda Slavia make it the safest family car.

NCAP (New Car Assessment Program) rating is considered important as it is one of the excellent ways to evaluate car’s efficiency and safety. Determining the rating helps you to choose the right vehicle. With Skoda Kushaq and Slavia, it is clear that Skoda is committed to customer safety, making every drive exciting and safe.
