India’s age-old footwear brand Khadim to open four new stores in Maharashtra

Kolkata-based affordable footwear and accessories Brand Khadim India Ltd is planning to launch four new stores during the first quarter of FY23 in Maharashtra to strengthen its retail presence. The brand, which already has a strong footing in Maharashtra with stores in Indira Nagar, Vile Parle, Vashi, Sangli, Kalamboli, Borivali and Amravati and more, looks to further expand its presence in West India.

Rittick Roy Burman, executive director, Khadim India Ltd, commented on the expansion saying “West is an important market for us. We have a long-term view on Maharashtra and will be strategically expanding our retail network across the state.”

Headquartered in Chitpur, Kolkata, Khadim offers an array of options for footwear and accessories, with a dedicated section for men, women, and children under its primary Brand Khadim and sub-brands Bonito, PRO, Cleo, Sharon, Turk, Lazard, British Walkers, and others. 

The homegrown footwear brand which has been successful for 50 years since its inception in the 1960s, aims to expand its brick-and-mortar retail presence beyond Tier 2 and 3 cities and open over 80 new stores. The brand has made its presence felt in 23 states and 1 union territory with over 826 retail stores and is eyeing Rs 800 crore in revenue in the 2023 financial year.
