Kenosha Facility Leads Midwest Expansion

Gourmet Foods International, Atlanta-based distributor of specialty foods, broke ground on a Kenosha, Wisconsin distribution center in 2016. To better support the growing business in the Midwest region, company leaders added a 35,000-square-foot expansion to the distribution center.

The facility expansion required a cold storage building envelope solution with fast delivery, flexible design options and easy long-term maintenance.

Versatility Wins

The project team selected Metl-Span CF Mesa insulated metal Panels in White Poly for ceiling, exterior and interior panels. Crews installed a total of 107,000 square feet of panels in 4”- and 5”-widths over a twelve-week span. The 5” panels completed a specialty -10-degree freezer. Four-inch panels were used to complete all coolers and the exterior pony wall.

The renovation was completed in September 2021.
