On Monday, Oct. 2, St. Raymond High School for Boys held their annual Alumni Association Golf Outing at Salem Golf Club in North Salem, New York. More than 90 golfers gathered together for a day of golf, dinner, drinks, auctions, raffles and fun.

The St. Raymond Advancement Office, in conjunction with alumni association members, worked diligently over the summer months and early September to bring in the sponsorships, golfers and auction items needed for the event.

This year, St. Raymond is delighted to announce that the outing raised more than $44,000 in scholarship funding proceeds. 

The golf outing is just one of the major fundraising events during the school year, created specifically to raise proceeds for the Alumni Association Scholarship Fund. “It is the catalyst for change in the lives of St. Raymond young men, current and future. Every ticket sale, donation received and sponsorship purchased goes directly to the students,” said John Baker, Alumni Association member. “This is just a small part of building a legacy that we hope will last a lifetime.”

With perfect weather, golfers enjoyed playing a full course and had a chance to take part in a hole-in-one contest to win a new car. Once back in the clubhouse, golfers enjoyed a cocktail hour, buffet dinner, open bar, raffle prizes and a live auction. Live auction winners went home with items like Yankees, Rangers and Giants tickets, a 4-night, 5-day stay in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, a wine pairing dinner at Elm in Connecticut, a chartered fishing trip and of course rounds of golf at surrounding tristate area golf clubs. Raffle prizes included a variety of Taylor made golf clubs and golf accessories thanks to the help of St. Raymond alumnus Kevin Lynch.
