The clean opening sequence for the second season of Spy Family’s anime was recently made available to fans on the show’s official website. With Masaaki Yuasa in charge, fans can anticipate an enthralling and visually spectacular start to the series. The new opening song for the season, “Kurakura,” performed by Ado, serves as the opening theme.

Season 2 Premiere Date

Mark October 7 on your calendars! The second season of Spy Family will debut at 11:00 p.m. JST (10:00 a.m. EDT) on a number of networks, including TV Tokyo, TV Osaka, TV Aichi, TV Setouchi, TV Hokkaido, and TVQ Kyushu Broadcasting. The anime will be broadcast on additional channels at a later time for those who were unable to watch it live. The series will also be available to viewers worldwide on Crunchyroll as it airs in Japan.

The Creative Team

Spy Family’s second season has an excellent creative cast. The season will once again be directed by Kazuhiro Furuhashi, who is most known for films like Rurouni Kenshin and Mobile Suit Gundam UC. Additionally returning as the associate director is Takahiro Harada. Notably, Ichiro Okouchi assumes the role of the new series script supervisor, giving new viewpoints to the plot. He is the creator of Code Geass and Mobile Suit Gundam: The Witch From Mercury. Daishiro Tanimura and Ayumu Hisao, who serve as assistant series script supervisors, also offer their skills.

Character design is handled by Kazuaki Shimada, who is best known for his work on The Promised Neverland, and who makes sure that the visual attractiveness of the characters is always of the highest calibre. Another engaging soundtrack will be created by [K]NoW_NAME, a producer most known for their work on Fairy gone, Dorohedoro, and Sakura Quest. In order to make sure that the audio experience is as captivating as the graphics, Shji Hata will take over as the sound director.

The Music

Ado provides the music for the opening theme, “Kurakura,” and Vaundy and Cory Wong provide the music for the closing theme, “Todome no Ichigeki” (Finishing Strike). Meiyo, a fellow singer-songwriter, wrote the song’s lyrics and music, and the great Yoko Kanno orchestrated and performed it, guaranteeing a musical masterpiece that harmonises well with the series.

Gekijōban SPY×FAMILY Code: White

On December 22, the movie Gekijban SPYFAMILY Code: White is slated to have its world debut, which will be exciting for fans. A brand-new plot is promised for this movie, promising an intriguing expansion of the Spy Family universe.

A Recap of Season 1

For those who might have missed it, the first episode of the first season debuted in April 2022, with both the Japanese original and an English dub being made available by Crunchyroll. In October 2022, Japan held the country’s first screening of the second half, and Crunchyroll continued to broadcast the series worldwide.

The Manga and Beyond

The anime draws its exciting inspiration from the original manga by Tatsuya End. Twilight, a master snooper renowned for his covert operations, is the main character in it. But he encounters a completely new obstacle when given the assignment to get married and have a child. He is unaware that the complexity of his mission will be increased by the fact that his chosen wife is an assassin and the child he adopted is a telepath.

In order to reach a global audience, Shueisha is simultaneously releasing the manga in English on its MANGA Plus website. In September 2019, Viz Media combined print copies of the manga with an addition to its app as part of its Shonen Jump subscription. A musical version of the manga will be performed in March–May 2023, further demonstrating the popularity of the series.
