Let the holiday shopping begin with local bazaars, craft fairs and more

Chambers Memorial Church

Chambers Memorial Church, 2 Sylvan Ave., Rutledge, will hold a Christmas Bazaar and Craft Fair Saturday, Nov. 5, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. The event is indoors, so it will be held rain or shine. Multiple vendors will exhibit their wares.

Vendors will sell handmade crystal, bead and gemstone jewelry, Color Street nails, tumblers, crochet items, jams and jellies, homemade candies, luminary scents, blankets, Mary Kay, Paparazzi and more.

Holy Cross

Holy Cross Parish, 651 E. Springfield Road, Springfield, will hold its annual craft fair and Christmas bazaar Saturday, Nov. 5 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The event will offer lots of local crafters, as well as a snack bar. Everyone is welcome.

Creekside Village

A craft fair is planned for 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 5, at Creekside Village Clubhouse, 1 Creekside Blvd., Boothwyn.  Everyone is welcome to jumpstart their Holiday shopping. There will be crafters from all over the tri-state area, bringing hand-crafted one-of-a-kind items to sell. People can win a gift at the raffle table and enjoy lunch before shopping at the White Elephant Sale.

Holmes Presbyterian Church

Holmes Presbyterian Church, 375 Holmes Road, Holmes, will hold a holiday festival Saturday Nov. 12, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the church’s social hall. There will be vendors, crafters, baked goods, a food court, photo booth, Kids Zone and more. For more information, call the church office at 610-532-0346.

Haverford Guild of Craftsmen

The Haverford Guild of Craftsmen will hold its 2022 Holiday Art and Fine Craft Show Saturday, Nov. 12 and Sunday, Nov. 13, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day at the Haverford Community Recreation and Environmental Center, 9000 Parkview Drive, Haverford.

Over 70 juried artisans will offer high-quality, handmade, and one-of-a-kind artwork in a variety of media, including basketry, ceramics, fiber, glass, leather, jewelry, mixed media, paper craft, photography, sculpture, wood, painting and much more. Admission is $5. A coupon is available on the Guild’s website at https://haverfordguild.org/  to make admission cost $3.

Lynnewood Elementary

Lynnewood Elementary School, 1400 Lawrence Road, Havertown, will hold its Holiday Extravaganza, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 13. The event will feature over 80 vendors, as well as food trucks, mini-golf, raffles, a book fair, a bake sale, and a secret holiday gift area for children. For more information, call 610-853-5900.

Transition Town Media

Transition Town Media will hold its Green Sunday TTM Holiday Fair, Sunday, Nov. 13 from 1 to 5 p.m. at Media-Providence Friends School, 125 W. Third St., Media. Shoppers can do holiday shopping early and stress-free, knowing that they are supporting the local economy. People can shop the wares of their creative neighbors, snack on tasty edibles, and buy chances for raffle items donated by the vendors. A craft table will be available where kids can make their holiday gifts while parents shop in a relaxed atmosphere.

Parking and event entrance are behind the school on Fourth Street, between Olive and Orange streets. Signs will direct shoppers.

Dunwoody Village

Dunwoody Village will host its annual Holiday Bazaar, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 17. The bazaar is the culmination of countless hours of preparation by Dunwoody’s residents, who organize the event as well as collect and create the items to be sold. All proceeds are spent to enhance Dunwoody resident programs.

The excitement for this year’s bazaar is heightened, not only because the bazaar had been canceled for the past two years due to COVID restrictions, but also because the event will take place in the new auditorium that is part of the newly renovated Community Building.

The bazaar features a wide array of items from which to choose, including unique handcrafted items, holiday decorations, attic treasures, costume jewelry, baked goods, house plants and more. Visitors can also take a chance on baskets of cheer.

Our Lady of Peace

Our Lady of Peace will hold a Christmas bazaar, 6-9 p.m. Friday, Nov. 18 and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 19, in Nelson Hall, behind Notre Dame deLourdes School, Fairview Road, Swarthmore.

The bazaar will feature basket raffles, toy wheel, chances on TV, Shark vacuum, Basket of Cheer, Deacon’s attic and vendors.

St. Joseph parish

St. Joseph Parish, Aston, will have its annual Christmas bazaar Saturday, Nov. 19 from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. in Degnan Hall, 3255 Concord Road, Aston. The bazaar will feature white elephant tables, books, jewelry, basket raffles, a sweets table, photos with Santa, and much more. Everyone is welcome.

Cardinal O’Hara

The Cardinal O’Hara High School  Band and Guard Fall Craft Fair will be held Saturday, Nov. 19, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., and Sunday, Nov. 20, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., in the O’Hara cafeteria, 1701 Sproul Road, Springfield.

Everyone is welcome to come and shop for unique, handcrafted gifts and items, made by over 80 local artisans. The event benefits the O’Hara music program.

Brookhaven Town Watch

The Annual Town Watch Holiday Craft Fair will take place Nov. 26 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Brookhaven Municipal Center, 2 Cambridge Road. If interested in being a vendor, cost is $25 per space and a limited number of tables will be available for an additional $5.

St. John’s Episcopal

St. John The Evangelist Episcopal Church, 16 W. Third St., Essington, will hold a Christmas Bazaar, 4-7 p.m. Friday, Dec. 2. The bazaar will feature crafts, food, a cookie walk and more. Everyone is welcome.

Harry’s Hands To Help and Heal

Harry’s Hands to Help and Heal will host its annual Christmas Bazaar Saturday, Dec. 3 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the First Presbyterian Church of Glenolden, 2 S. Chester Pike, Glenolden.

The large holiday and craft bazaar featuring dozens of local vendors will also feature games, music, food, shopping, 50/50, and raffles. Admission is free.

Children can enjoy free face painting, then make a holiday craft, as well as take photos with Santa and the Grinch. The Candy Cane Cafe will serve food and beverages all day. Everyone is welcome.
