Kenyan Biotech Startup Ecodudu Raises USD 540 K Funding

Ecodudu, a Kenyan startup that enables more people in Africa to access agricultural inputs (fertilizer and protein) through a circular value chain, has raised USD 540 K in a round led by Truvalu, with participation from German-based GreenTec Capital Partners, Mauritius-based ShEquity, and Italian-based Opes-Lcef.

Ecodudu converts waste into value. The black soldier fly is used in a unique innovation to recycle organic waste into high-protein animal feed and organic fertilizer. The startup uses insects to address global concerns such as waste management, protein demand, and environmental conservation.
