Pawar had urged the government to convene the Business Advisory Committee meeting tomorrow, on December 29, instead of today so he could depart from Nagpur at 10 am.

However, Chief Minister Eknath Shinde urged Pawar to attend the meeting today and thereafter leave for Mumbai. Shinde offered that he fly to Mumbai in a government plane.

Anil Deshmukh to walk out of jail today after Bombay High Court refused to extend stay on his bail

Deshmukh was arrested by CBI in an extortion case last year; he has been lodged in jail since then. Earlier, he got a bail in money laundering case by ED and on December 12 was granted bail in the CBI case.

The court however had put a stay on so that the agency could approach Supreme Court. The CBI could not get a hearing in apex court due to vacation and Bombay HC refused to extend stay paving way for him to walk out.

After recording a minimum temperature of 15 degrees Celsius on Christmas, the city’s temperature is back to an average of 17 to 20 degrees Celsius.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) forecasted that the city may experience a not-so-cold New Year's eve, as the minimum temperature is likely to go up to 21 degrees Celsius over the weekend.

According to the IMD, on Tuesday, Santacruz witnessed a minimum temperature of 17.0 degrees Celsius and a maximum of 31.5 degrees Celsius, with 61% relative humidity. Colaba experienced a minimum temperature of 20.0 degrees Celsius and a maximum of 29.2 degrees Celsius, with 74% relative humidity.
