Krishna's last rites will be held on Wednesday at Mahaprasthanam with full state honours

Krishna received several awards including NTR national award in 2003. In 2009, he was honoured with the Padma Bhushan for his contributions to Indian cinema.

Krishna acted in more than 350 films in his career spanning five decades. He also produced and directed a few films. 

Krishna's demise comes two months after his wife and Mahesh Babu's mother Indira Devi passed away. Earlier this year, Krishna lost his elder son Ramesh Babu as well.

Krishna breathed his last at around 4 am on November 15 at a hospital in Hyderabad. He was rushed to the hospital after suffering a cardiac arrest.

The mortal remains of Krishna were shifted to Gachibowli stadium around 5 pm on Tuesday for the public to pay their homage.

Mahesh Babu's father, superstar Krishna, passed away in the wee hours on Tuesday (November 15). He was 79.
