At least one person was hospitalized following a multi-vehicle collision involving a truck in Bakersfield on Sunday morning, February 25, 2024.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash happened just before 11:00 a.m. along northbound Highway 99.

CHP said at least four vehicles were involved in the collision, including a U-Haul truck. There is still no confirmation about the total number of injured victims, but at least one was transported to Kern Medical for treatment. The extent of the injuries was also undisclosed.

Multiple lanes of Highway 99 near Planz Road were closed as a precaution, causing significant traffic around the area.

The cause of the accident has not yet been determined. CHP is on the case.
